How do I go about renting homes with pets?

Bunking in with any domestic animals are always tricky however there’s always a way to go about it as long as it’s communicated properly.

Do make sure that this is made known to the landlord, since dogs have different breed and sizes, please do send a photo and indicate the breed and the approximate size to the landlord.

Usually pets are more applicable for whole apartment rental as shared units are more complicated and usually landlord won’t accept or entertain any pets as the space would be shared by other tenants.

However you’re all good if you’re willing to rent the whole unit instead as long as the landlord finds it okay. Do make sure that this is being discussed with the estate agent representing the landlord and it’ll be best to have an agent to act on your behalf.

Should there be an LOI, do make sure the following are drafted so that it would serve as a great black and white confirmation that you’re allowed to have a pet in the place. This is to prevent instances of landlord actually not knowing the presence of the pet and decided to not allow the pet in the place of residence and you couldn’t do anything as it’s not included in the contract.

An example would be something like this:
