District 6.
City Hall / Shenton Way — Singapore's civic core by day, its liveliest bar strip after dark. Everything about buying, selling and renting here, refreshed live.
Singapore's civic stage by day, its liveliest bar strip after dark — but there's almost nothing here to buy.
District 6 is Singapore's civic stage by day and its party strip by night. Parliament House and the National Gallery sit a short stroll from Clarke Quay's riverside bars, and the whole precinct runs on colonial-era architecture wrapped around a very modern nightlife scene. Private residential stock here is thin, most of the district is government buildings, museums, and hotels, so options for buyers are genuinely limited. For anyone chasing a rare unit in the historic core, District 6 rewards patience more than browsing.

District 6's resale market is basically a rounding error, just 4 apartment transactions in the past 18 months and none at all in May. Parliament House, the National Gallery and Clarke Quay give this postcode plenty of civic and nightlife credibility, but almost nobody sells a home here because almost nobody owns one, this is Singapore's government and hospitality quarter first. What little did trade skewed toward larger 3-bedders and up, pushing psf north of $3,300, but with a sample this small that number tells you more about the specific unit than the market. If a rare listing surfaces here, expect a long wait and a serious premium rather than a quick comparable.
