Roncasa's Take

One of the densest school clusters in the central region.

CHIJ Primary, Pei Chun Public School, St. Andrew's Junior and Maris Stella High (Primary) sit within a genuinely tight radius of each other, backed by St. Andrew's Secondary and Raffles Girls' School (Secondary) nearby. Toa Payoh's town-centre maturity and Circle Line connectivity add practical weight to the school density. For a buyer chasing central-ish living with real school choice and none of District 10's price tag, D12 quietly delivers one of the best school-per-dollar ratios in the central region.

Counts English-medium mainstream primary schools within the same 1km/2km MOE registration-priority bands used above. SAP, GEP, IP and Autonomous status don't change the distance rule: proximity alone decides Phase 2C priority.

72 in the district — genuinely high supply (9th nationally), driven by dense PCF Sparkletots and My First Skool coverage plus Skool4Kidz and MapleBear outposts. Strong, but worth knowing D19, D23, D18, D27 and D22 all have more — D12 is a leading OCR-adjacent cluster, not the single densest in Singapore.

Preschools shown here come from ECDA's own centre listing, including real vacancy status by level (infant through K2), SPARK certification, and whether food or transport is provided. MOE's Primary 1 priority-distance rules don't apply to preschool admission the same way (the 1km/2km bands above are a primary-school mechanic), so use these listings on their own merits, not against that radius.

Source: MOE / OneMap via roncasa-location-api, radius-capped at 2km. SAP/GEP/IP/Autonomous status current as of last data refresh. Primary 1 registration-phase vacancy data (2A1/2A2/2B/2C) is not yet available — the 1km/2km bands shown reflect MOE's real registration-priority geography, not phase-by-phase seat counts.
